North Dakota Rehabs
About half of North Dakota is part of the Great Plains, a large prairie of grassland that covers the middle of America. Living on the Great Plains are animals such as the American bison, prairie dog, and wolves. Fortunately, drug-induced deaths in the state are less than half the national rate, according to the Office of National Drug Control Policy. In 2018, 70 people died from a drug overdose in the state, with 36 of those deaths involving Opioids. For those enrolled in treatment in North Dakota, the majority of them had both an alcohol and drug problem, followed by solely an alcohol problem. It is common to see multiple drugs abused in those with a substance use disorder. A combination of drugs and alcohol reduce inhibitions, causing someone to consume more alcohol or drugs than they normally would otherwise. This can increase the risk of overdose. There are treatment centers around the country that can help people with a substance use disorder overcome their addiction. Discover rehabs here.
