Guam Rehabs
In the Western Pacific, nestled between Asia and North America, lies the island of Guam. Located in Micronesia, Guam is the largest and most populated island among the Mariana Islands. On average, the island receives over 1.5 million visitors a year. It is best known for its tropical beaches, native Chamorro culture, and essential role in World War II. Though the exotic island may seem like paradise beneath the surface, its residents are dealing with a severe drug epidemic. The rates of drug use in Guam are on the rise. In 2015, about 37% of high school students admitted to being offered, sold, or given an illicit drug. According to a clinical study performed in 2016, about 12% of adults actively used illegal drugs. Addiction within the island is a serious problem, but fortunately, there is help available. There are treatment centers around the country accepting patients. Check out some treatment options.
