About Xchange Recovery

Xchange Recovery is a Christian faith-based nonprofit ministry in Ridgefield, Washington, that has been helping people in southwest Washington rebuild their lives after addiction since 2003. Many of their team members have been through addiction themselves, and they approach recovery as something done alongside others, with faith in Jesus Christ held as central to the process. Their core offering is a highly structured, high-accountability transitional housing program that pairs a stable place to live with outpatient treatment, counseling, and 12-step support. They run separate homes for men and women across Clark County, including a rural women’s lodge in Battle Ground and a men’s home that can accommodate parents with children under 14.

A typical day in housing includes outpatient treatment, group and individual counseling, life-skills workshops, fitness and recreation at a day center, and personal growth activities, along with weekly 12-step meetings, Saturday night recovery church services, and pastoral guidance. Residents are supported by case managers, peer mentors, and employment specialists, and some can build work skills and earn income through Xchange-run businesses in towing, cleaning, repairs, and construction. Shared rooms cost $600 per month plus a one-time $200 intake fee, and applicants with arson or sex-related charges cannot be accepted. Beyond housing, they offer street outreach, street medicine for local homeless camps, a Parents 4 Parents peer mentoring program for families in dependency court, and free naloxone from their office lobby.
