About Woodland Centers

Woodland Centers is a community behavioral health organization based in Willmar, Minnesota, offering mental health, substance use, and crisis services to people of all ages across seven west central Minnesota counties. For addiction, they provide outpatient treatment at ASAM levels 2.1 and 1.0. Adult groups meet in person in Willmar and Montevideo and through telehealth, while an adolescent program runs in Willmar. Their approach treats mind, body, and spirit together, with each person working toward the goals, objectives, and interventions laid out in an individualized treatment plan.

Adult groups meet three mornings a week, with an afternoon telehealth option, and adolescent groups meet four days a week after school. Group counseling pairs Dialectical Behavior Therapy strategies with recovery literature to address emotional, cognitive, and behavioral dysregulation. Care can begin with a substance use evaluation and may include individual co-occurring counseling, family counseling, care coordination, and one-on-one peer support in the community. Medication-assisted treatment with medications such as Suboxone and naltrexone is available through their psychiatry services, and people already on MAT are welcome in the outpatient program. They also hand out free, anonymous naloxone kits at their locations and run 24/7 mobile crisis response and short-term crisis stabilization units for adults and youth.
