WhiteSands Treatment Center in Plant City, Florida, is a campus of a Florida addiction treatment provider that has served Central and Southwest Florida for more than 12 years. They treat addiction to alcohol, opioids and fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, benzodiazepines, and prescription stimulants and sleep medications. Co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder are a central focus, with physicians, psychologists, and nurses trained in both. The Plant City campus offers medically assisted detox, residential treatment, and a Day/Night partial hospitalization program, and patients can continue into intensive outpatient care, outpatient care, and medication-assisted treatment.

Detox relies on slow, extended medication tapers and typically lasts about a week. An addictionologist sees each patient daily, and nurses are on site around the clock. In residential care, patients meet with their primary therapist twice a week for individual or family sessions and attend five groups a day, which they choose with their therapist from options that include cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused work, family systems therapy, relapse prevention, and biofeedback. A daily Life Skills Guide helps each person plan their sleep, meals, exercise, and therapy goals. The 10-acre campus has private rooms, an athletic complex, boxing, and personal training, and patients get their phones and laptops back after therapy ends each afternoon. As people step down to Day/Night care, they gradually take on cooking, managing their own medication, and sober outings. Buprenorphine and Vivitrol continue under the same medical and psychiatric providers throughout.
