WhiteSands Alcohol and Drug Rehab is part of WhiteSands Treatment, a Florida addiction treatment network with a listing in Palm Harbor that has served Central and Southwest Florida for more than 12 years. They treat alcohol, opioid, fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, benzodiazepine, and prescription stimulant and sleep medication addictions, with an emphasis on co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. Their care runs from medically assisted detox and residential treatment on the Plant City and Fort Myers campuses to Day/Night partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient, and medication-assisted treatment. The network is Joint Commission accredited, and patients keep the same medical and psychiatric providers as they step down through each level.

Detox typically lasts about a week and uses slow medication tapers, with an addictionologist checking in daily and nurses on site around the clock. In residential care, patients meet with their primary therapist twice a week for individual or family sessions and choose five daily groups with that therapist, drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused work, family systems therapy, relapse prevention, and biofeedback. Each day starts with a written plan covering sleep, meals, exercise, and therapy, reviewed with a Life Skills Guide. After afternoon programming, patients get their phones back and can use the pool, gym, or boxing and personal training programs. The Day/Night program gradually returns responsibilities like cooking and managing medication, with housing available in Tampa’s Hyde Park or Fort Myers, ongoing buprenorphine or Vivitrol management, and an alumni program for peer support after discharge.
