About White Sands Alcohol and Drug Rehab
White Sands Alcohol and Drug Rehab, part of WhiteSands Treatment, runs a smaller residential campus in Fort Myers, Florida, with about 45 patients living in villa-style homes. They treat addiction to alcohol, opioids and fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, benzodiazepines, and prescription stimulants and sleep medications, with a strong focus on co-occurring mental health conditions. Care moves through medically assisted detox, residential treatment, Day/Night partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient services, and medication-assisted treatment. Detox relies on slow medication tapers with daily visits from a board-certified addictionologist, and nurses are on-site around the clock.
In residential care, patients meet with their primary therapist twice a week for individual or family sessions and attend five groups a day, seven days a week. They choose those groups with their therapist from a menu that includes cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused work, family systems therapy, relapse prevention, and biofeedback. A daily Life Skills Guide helps each person plan their sleep, meals, exercise, and therapy goals, and patients get their personal devices back after programming ends each afternoon so they can practice handling real-life calls and responsibilities with support nearby. Day/Night patients can live in community apartments near the Fort Myers campus while keeping the same addictionologist and psychiatrist, continue buprenorphine or Vivitrol as needed, and later join an alumni program with support meetings, workshops, and family events.
