About White Mountain Counseling
White Mountain Counseling is a nonprofit outpatient behavioral health practice in Show Low, Arizona, offering substance abuse evaluations and individual counseling for adults. Founded in 2000 by Dr. Jean Lee, a licensed professional counselor and independent addiction counselor, they operate under the nonprofit Gabriel Outreach, Inc. A large part of their work is helping people get back on track after a violation, through Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional (DOT-SAP) evaluations and Arizona MVD license revocation evaluations. These evaluations lead to recommendations for education or treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare, with the goal of a return to duty.
Beyond evaluations, they provide one-on-one substance abuse counseling, relapse prevention therapy, and crisis and grief counseling, along with help for anger, domestic violence, communication, boundaries, and parenting concerns. Therapy draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and client-centered approaches. Clients who want their faith included can choose Christian, Catholic-Christian, or interdenominational counseling, and a court-ordered parenting class is also available. Sessions are offered in person or by telehealth and phone, with appointments often available within 24 hours on weekdays.
