About Wasatch Recovery

Wasatch Recovery is an addiction treatment center in the Salt Lake City area, with a residential program in Cottonwood Heights and an outpatient and sober living location in Sandy. They take a holistic approach built around mind, body, and spirit, treating adults struggling with alcohol, opioids, cocaine, meth, marijuana, and other substances. Their levels of care include detox, residential treatment lasting roughly 30 to 90 days, day treatment, intensive outpatient, and sober living, along with mental health services and medication management. While they serve all adults, they place particular focus on financially disadvantaged individuals and families and offer discounted care supported by their nonprofit foundation.

Every client starts with a medical and clinical assessment that looks at substance use history, withdrawal risk, mental health, and home environment to decide which level of care fits. Therapy centers on cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based methods, delivered through individual, group, and family counseling and paired with a 12-step program and a therapeutic community model. Medication-assisted treatment with options such as Suboxone and naltrexone is available for opioid and alcohol dependence, and residents also get customized fitness routines like yoga, hiking, basketball, and weight training, experiential activities, and individualized meal planning. Their IOP meets three nights a week for up to six months and adds vocational rehabilitation, peer support, and alumni events that connect clients with a large sober community.
