About VOTC Inc

Visions of the Cross, operated by VOTC, Inc., is a substance use recovery campus in Redding, California, that has served adults since 2008. They offer separate men’s and women’s residential programs, with options for women who have their children with them, along with intensive outpatient, standard outpatient, and sober recovery residences. Their approach is non-religious but recognizes the role faith can play, blending faith-based and secular evidence-based practices to help people uncover the core issues behind their substance use. They accept Drug Medi-Cal and Partnership Health Plan of California and offer a sliding fee scale based on family size.

Residential stays are tailored in length and include individual counseling, trauma-focused CBT and DBT, relapse prevention, life skills, parenting classes, nutrition and smoking cessation support, and a Nurturing Fathers group for men. People using medication-assisted treatment for opioid, alcohol, or methamphetamine use are welcome, and the team coordinates with local prescribers, while partner Community Behavioral Health provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management. The IOP requires at least nine hours of weekday afternoon groups each week, plus weekly one-on-one counseling and drug testing, in 30-, 60-, or 90-day tracks. Standard outpatient groups run 90 minutes in the morning or on select evenings, which suits people who work, and a weekly family education group, care coordination, and aftercare groups offer support beyond the core program.
