Vinfen Behavioral Health runs a Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) in Lowell, Massachusetts, that offers crisis, urgent, and routine care for mental health and substance use concerns. They are part of Vinfen, a nonprofit health and human services organization founded in 1977 that serves people across Massachusetts and Connecticut with a focus on recovery, resiliency, and self-determination. The CBHC serves children and youth ages 4 to 18, as well as adults, throughout the Greater Lowell area, including Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Dunstable, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, and Westford. Their services include outpatient care, round-the-clock mobile crisis response, and short-term 24-hour crisis stabilization, and they accept most MassHealth and private insurance plans without turning away local residents who can’t pay.

Outpatient care offers same-day and next-day appointments with extended hours, along with assessment and diagnosis, individual, family, and group therapy, substance use and recovery services, medication management, behavior management, and case management. Their Mobile Crisis Intervention team responds 24/7 at home, school, work, or elsewhere in the community, offering de-escalation, safety planning, and referrals as an alternative to the emergency room. Adults who need more support can stay in their Community Crisis Stabilization program, a structured, home-like setting with group, individual, and family therapy, nursing care, medication monitoring, and peer recovery support. Anyone can call for help on someone’s behalf, including family members, schools, employers, first responders, and medical providers.
