About Victory Programs Inc
Victory Programs Inc is a Greater Boston nonprofit serving Dorchester and surrounding communities through more than 25 sites that combine low-barrier housing, substance use recovery, and healthcare support. Their recovery services address substance use disorders alongside co-occurring mental health concerns, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and other chronic conditions, with a focus on relapse prevention and building independence. Their approach rests on a simple idea: no one who is struggling should have to quit using, stabilize their mental health, or find a home on their own before getting basic support. They put safe, stable housing first, believing people are better able to work on addiction and health once they have a secure place to live.
Care is individualized and client-driven, built around each person’s strengths and goals and grounded in evidence-based methods like Trauma-Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing. Setbacks are not met with punishment or loss of services, and clients are encouraged to try again on their own terms. A mobile medical case management team helps people, especially those living with HIV, with MassHealth enrollment, medical appointments, transportation, healthy food, rental assistance, and keeping their housing, while peers with lived experience offer added support. Mothers in recovery can find transitional family housing with round-the-clock clinical support and help reuniting with their young children, and prevention services include HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI testing, overdose prevention kits, and a healthy meals program.
