About Victory Programs Inc
Victory Programs is a nonprofit based in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, that runs more than 25 housing, recovery, and healthcare programs across Greater Boston for people facing homelessness, addiction, and chronic illness. Their approach rests on a simple idea: someone who is struggling shouldn’t have to tackle the hardest step first, whether that’s quitting substances or finding stable housing, before getting basic support. They work with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health concerns, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and other chronic conditions, focusing on relapse prevention and building independence. Their low-barrier services include emergency shelter, supportive and transitional housing, housing search help, and case management.
Care is individualized and client-driven, using Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and a strengths-based approach that builds on what each person is already doing well. If someone slips, they aren’t scolded or turned away; they’re given another chance. A mobile medical case management team helps people living with HIV navigate appointments, enroll in MassHealth, keep their housing, and access rental assistance, transportation, and healthy food, while peers with lived experience at the Boston Living Center offer added hands-on support. They also provide HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI testing, overdose prevention kits, and a meals program, and their new 16 Williams Street home in Brookline offers transitional housing with round-the-clock clinical care for mothers in recovery and their young children, including help with family reunification.
