Vesta Inc is a community behavioral health provider serving Waldorf, MD, as part of a network of seven Maryland locations. For more than 30 years, they have focused on mental health care for children ages 7 and up, adolescents, and adults, including people living with serious and persistent mental illness, and they also offer substance use counseling. Their continuum includes outpatient therapy, medication management, targeted case management, community psychiatric rehabilitation, adult day programs, residential rehabilitation, and supported living. They accept Maryland Medicaid, Medicare, UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage, and self-pay clients, and they also serve uninsured Maryland residents.

Substance use care is delivered through individual and group counseling under a co-occurring model, which treats substance use alongside any underlying mental health concerns. Each client receives an assessment to set goals and determine the right level of care, although Vesta does not provide assessments for the MVA or the State of Maryland. Therapists draw on approaches such as CBT, DBT, and EMDR, and sessions for individuals, couples, families, and groups are available in person or by telehealth, with psychiatric nurse practitioners typically seeing new medication clients within 10 days. Getting started can be quick, with same-day virtual walk-in intakes Monday through Thursday, weekend intake appointments, and interpreter services for clients who prefer a language other than English.
