About Vertex LLC

Vertex LLC is an outpatient substance use treatment provider in Brooklyn, New York, with additional locations in the Bronx and Queens, licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. They treat drug and alcohol addiction as a disease of both body and mind, offering outpatient counseling paired with medication-assisted treatment. They aim to provide a nonjudgmental, supportive space built on compassion, respect, and trust, and they welcome women, men, LGBTQ+ and non-binary individuals, as well as families and friends affected by a loved one’s addiction. Their founder built the program to help families navigate the criminal justice system and overcome language and cultural barriers, and that focus on involving the whole family runs throughout their services.

Each participant receives an individualized treatment plan that can combine individual, group, and family counseling with 12-step work, life and coping skills, and exploration of the root causes of addiction. Their medication-assisted treatment uses anti-craving medications alongside therapy to address opioid dependence, withdrawal symptoms, and relapse risk, and it is covered by insurance plans including Medicaid. Ongoing support includes a 26-week Matrix Relapse Prevention group, a smoking cessation group, and the Freedom Group, a track for people involved with the criminal justice system. They also run 26-week courses in anger management, domestic violence, DWI/DUI education (offered in English or Spanish), and parenting, which are recognized by the New York State court system, and they issue completion certificates that make these courses especially useful for anyone meeting court or child welfare requirements.
