Veridian Behavioral Health is the multidisciplinary mental health program of Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas, serving people across central Kansas. Their psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists help children, adolescents, and adults with concerns such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, relationship strain, and substance use, including co-occurring conditions. Care ranges from inpatient psychiatric stabilization at the hospital’s main campus to an adult intensive outpatient program, outpatient therapy, and psychiatric consultation. Many appointments can also be held remotely through their vCare telehealth service. For substance use, they provide individual outpatient therapy and refer people to outside programs when group or inpatient addiction treatment is needed.

Substance use care starts with an assessment, followed by a personalized treatment plan built in the first session. That plan may include a chemical use review, a written autobiography, and building a support network that can involve 12-step meetings. It can also cover identifying triggers and the thinking patterns that feed relapse, as well as relapse prevention planning, with sessions usually held weekly or every other week. Family members can join through family or marital sessions and may be encouraged to attend Al-Anon. Their New Options IOP meets three mornings a week for adults stepping up from outpatient care or down from a hospital stay. Groups in the IOP cover coping skills, emotion regulation, boundaries, and changing negative thought patterns, and participants see a medical provider weekly for medication management. Their team also includes licensed marriage and family therapists and clinicians trained in play therapy for children.
