Urban Recovery is an adult addiction treatment center in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, offering medically supervised inpatient detox and short-term residential rehab in the same building. They hold New York OASAS licenses for both levels of care and are CARF-accredited, so someone can move from withdrawal management straight into residential treatment without a transfer or a break in medication. Detox covers alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants, and prescription drugs, with round-the-clock nursing, physician-adjusted medication, and gradual tapering for benzodiazepines. Anxiety, depression, and trauma are treated within the same plan as substance use, and same-day admissions are available with most major insurance plans accepted.

The short-term residential program usually runs one to four weeks, with length of stay set at assessment and reviewed as treatment progresses. Clients receive 35 hours of counseling each week, including group sessions seven days a week and individual counseling, built around Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Seeking Safety, a model for people dealing with both PTSD and addiction. Medication-assisted treatment with Suboxone, Vivitrol, or buprenorphine is available when clinically appropriate, and yoga, meditation, nutritional counseling, and practical health education fill out the daily schedule. Discharge planning begins at admission and lines up outpatient care, continued therapy, and community support before a client leaves, with family involvement whenever the patient consents.
