About United Services Inc

United Services Inc is a community mental health and human services agency based in Mansfield Center, Connecticut, serving Northeastern Connecticut with addiction recovery care alongside mental health, domestic violence, family, and senior services. Their addiction work takes a whole-person view, aiming to support physical, emotional, social, and spiritual healing. They help people struggling with alcohol and drug use, as well as gambling and codependency, and they work with people who have co-occurring mental health symptoms. Care is organized into two tracks, the Addiction Recovery Program and Medication Assisted Treatment, and a phone screening with their Client Access Team helps determine which one fits best.

The Addiction Recovery Program combines individual and group treatment, with substance use recovery groups held at both the Mansfield and Dayville locations. Staff use a person-centered approach that focuses on relapse prevention, building a recovery support network, and recovery education. The MAT track offers medication for opioid, alcohol, and tobacco use disorders, and people already receiving services can also access integrated primary care at the Dayville clinic. The program receives partial funding from the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, accepts most insurance plans, and offers a sliding fee scale for people who are uninsured or have limited income.
