About Union Mission Addiction Recovery Prog
Union Mission Addiction Recovery Program is a long-term, faith-based recovery program in Charleston, West Virginia, run by Union Mission Ministries, which has served people in need across the state since 1911. The program is WVARR-certified and lasts 12 to 15 months, giving men an extended stretch of structured time to step away from addiction and rebuild their lives. Their approach is rooted in Christian faith and treats recovery as work on the spirit, body, and mind. Union Mission is also raising funds for a new 7,000-square-foot, ADA-compliant men’s recovery building, which they describe as Kanawha County’s only accessible Level 3 recovery facility.
Daily life in the program follows a set routine built around devotions, Bible classes, behavioral health counseling, and life skills training. Participants also take part in work therapy, educational classes, fitness and exercise, and nutrition-focused care. Vocational training and job readiness preparation help men get ready for steady employment after they finish the program. Graduates who want to keep growing in their faith can pursue an internship that leads to long-term discipleship with the mission.
