Unhooked Recovery is a family-owned addiction treatment provider in Mesa, Arizona, serving men and women with substance use disorders from two East Valley locations. Their approach combines medical, therapeutic, and spiritual care to help people heal in mind, body, and spirit, and they place an emphasis on medication-assisted treatment. Care spans detox, residential inpatient treatment, and outpatient services that include an intensive outpatient program (IOP). People who are uninsured or underinsured may qualify for treatment funded through Arizona’s Substance Abuse Block Grant.

Residential treatment starts with a face-to-face biopsychosocial assessment based on ASAM criteria, which shapes the diagnosis, level of care, and an individualized treatment plan. From there, clients take part in individual psychotherapy, group counseling, and a family education program, and they receive nursing and physician care with medication management. Case managers help with legal issues, housing, employment, education, and discharge planning, while staff also build independent living, social, and communication skills. The IOP follows the Matrix Model, covering early recovery skills, relapse prevention, family education, and social support, with individual and family sessions, random urine testing, relapse analysis, and 12-step meetings adding further structure.
