About UConnectCare

UConnectCare is a behavioral health organization based in Batavia, New York, that has served Genesee and Orleans Counties since 1975, when they were founded as GCASA. They treat substance use disorder and problem gambling across a full continuum that includes prevention, outpatient treatment in Batavia and Albion, medically supervised detox, residential care, transitional supportive living, and peer-based recovery services. Their care is built to be trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally responsive, with an emphasis on long-term stability and independence.

Their 16-bed adult detox manages withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, and benzodiazepines, and offers open-access walk-in hours on weekday mornings without an appointment or referral, along with daily group therapy and morning meditation. From there, men can move into the 21-bed Atwater Community Residence, while the 25-bed Women & Children’s Center in Albion allows up to five mothers to keep children age 5 and under with them during treatment; both programs combine individual and group counseling with medical and mental health care, life skills work, and help with family, legal, and vocational needs. Shared supportive living houses in Batavia and Albion provide a step toward independence with continued counseling, case management, and vocational support. Certified peer advocates, specialized gambling counselors, and The Recovery Station, a sober community space, add harm reduction support, naloxone training, transportation and childcare help, and a daily peer warm line, and a sliding fee scale and insurance navigator help make care affordable.
