About Turning Point Centers
Turning Point Centers is an addiction and mental health treatment provider in Sandy, Utah, in the Salt Lake City area, and they have served adults 18 and older since 2007. They treat addiction to alcohol, opioids, and other drugs alongside conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and trauma, with a strong emphasis on dual diagnosis care. Their physician-directed, non-12-step model follows a continuum that runs from residential treatment through partial hospitalization (day treatment), intensive outpatient, and general outpatient care. They also offer sober and transitional living for people who need a structured home base during recovery.
Residential clients stay onsite with around-the-clock medical and mental health support, and separate facilities let addiction and mental health needs be treated on their own terms. Therapy draws on CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, ACT, EMDR, and trauma-informed care, along with groups on relapse prevention, family relationships, conflict resolution, and gender-specific recovery topics. Medication management and medication-assisted treatment are available when clinically appropriate. The PHP runs six hours a day, five days a week, for about four weeks, with separate primary mental health and dual diagnosis tracks, and families can join weekly group sessions while alumni stay connected through peer-led meetings and social events.
