About Turning Corners Inc

Turning Corners Inc is an outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program in Bel Air, Maryland, approved by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and Drug Court. Director Patricia Elizabeth Lilly, a state-certified addiction counselor who began her career in 1979, founded the program in the Baltimore area in 1997 and opened the Bel Air location a few years later. They combine structured education with therapy to address drug and alcohol addiction, and they build an individualized treatment plan for each person. They do not offer detox, so anyone who needs medical withdrawal support would complete it elsewhere first.

Services span DWI education, alcohol and drug education and treatment, relapse prevention, group therapy, and individual and family counseling, along with continuing care once the core program ends. Relapse prevention work centers on helping people recognize their personal triggers and develop ways to handle them. Counselors hold bachelor’s degrees in counseling and are board certified through MACCB, and they can draw on consultants in mental health and psychology when needed. People living outside Harford County, including Baltimore City, Cecil County, Ocean City, and out of state, can take part through audio conference calls and telehealth.
