Tuerk House is a nonprofit behavioral and community health provider serving the Greater Baltimore area, with residential houses in Baltimore and in nearby Howard County communities such as Highland and Ellicott City. They started as an addiction treatment program and broadened their services after seeing how many patients also lived with conditions like depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, diabetes, HIV, and hepatitis C. Their addiction care spans inpatient withdrawal management, several tiers of residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, standard outpatient, and an opioid treatment program. Walk-ins are their most common way of starting care, and they aim to serve people without judgment and regardless of insurance.

Residential care follows a step-down model, moving from a high-intensity program with 20 to 40 clinical hours a week to medium- and low-intensity levels focused on life skills, employment readiness, relapse prevention, and the transition to independent living, with separate houses for men and women. After residential treatment, patients can continue in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, or weekly outpatient care built around work, school, and family obligations. Their outpatient mental health clinic offers counseling, psychotherapy, and psychological evaluations for adults and adolescents, with individual, couples, family, and group sessions addressing trauma, grief, anxiety, mood disorders, and family conflict. For opioid use disorder, their medication-assisted treatment pairs behavioral therapy with options such as buprenorphine, Suboxone, Sublocade, naltrexone, Vivitrol, and naloxone, and peer recovery specialists, some of them former patients, are part of the care team.
