About TruHealing Hagerstown
TruHealing Hagerstown is an addiction treatment program in Hagerstown, Maryland, and part of the TruHealing Centers network. They run both a residential center and an outpatient center, so clients can move through a continuum of care that includes inpatient residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) services. They treat alcohol, prescription drug, and opioid addiction, as well as process addictions such as sex and gambling, and they also address co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Their approach views addiction as a chronic disease rooted in deeper causes, with individualized plans that address its physical, mental, and spiritual sides, and separate programs for men and women.
Residential care takes place in a home-like, non-hospital setting, renovated in 2018, with private sleeping areas. Each client’s schedule combines clinical groups, individual sessions, and case management. Therapy options include cognitive behavioral therapy, group and family therapy, and recreational therapy, and clients may receive medication-assisted treatment with Suboxone or Vivitrol if an initial assessment shows it’s a good fit. The outpatient program sits in Funkstown, about five minutes from the residential site, and serves people stepping down from a higher level of care as well as those living at home or in sober housing, with aftercare, an alumni program, and ties to local recovery organizations offering ongoing support.
