Tri-County Human Services is a private, not-for-profit behavioral health organization based in Lakeland, Florida. They provide substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorder treatment to residents of Polk, Hardee, and Highlands Counties. Their care ranges from medically supervised detox and residential treatment to transitional living, halfway houses, intensive outpatient, and standard outpatient counseling. The organization is CARF accredited, serves people regardless of ability to pay, and offers discounts based on family size and income.

Every adult is evaluated at or before admission, and that evaluation shapes an individualized plan delivered in the least restrictive setting that fits. Referrals are accepted on both a voluntary and involuntary basis. On the outpatient side, they offer assessment, psychiatric care, case management, individual, group, couples, and family counseling, education groups, aftercare, drug screening, and medication-assisted treatment, and most of these services can also be done by telehealth. Their residential programs include gender-specific transitional treatment centers for men and women and a dedicated women’s halfway house. They also run counseling for children and teens, an in-jail substance use program, and state-approved DUI classes and evaluations.
