About Townsend Recovery Center
Townsend Recovery Center is an addiction treatment program in Covington, Louisiana, serving adult men and women from the greater New Orleans area and across South Louisiana. They view addiction as a chronic brain disease and focus on the underlying causes, personal triggers, and co-occurring mental health conditions behind a person’s drug or alcohol use. Care begins with hospital-based medical stabilization, or detox, with round-the-clock monitoring. It continues through residential treatment and an intensive outpatient program (IOP).
Each client’s plan is built from an initial evaluation and tailored to their history and needs. Core services include individual and group therapy, substance abuse education, cognitive testing, and chronic disease management. A weekly family night brings loved ones into the process. Clinical work draws on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help clients recognize harmful thought patterns, manage triggers, and build coping skills. The outpatient track is designed so working adults, parents, and students can continue treatment while keeping up with their jobs and families.
