About Therapeutic Health Services
Therapeutic Health Services (THS) is a nonprofit addiction and mental health provider based in Seattle, Washington, serving people across King and Snohomish Counties since 1972 from about ten locations. They are best known for medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder, including addiction to heroin, fentanyl, and prescription painkillers, and they also treat alcohol and other drug use alongside conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and schizophrenia. Their approach pairs medication with strengths-based counseling, and they keep mental health, psychiatric, and substance use care together so patients can address co-occurring issues in one place. They are CARF accredited and accept Medicaid/Apple Health, Medicare, and most private insurance, with a sliding fee scale for those who are uninsured.
After an initial assessment with a counselor, a THS physician recommends either methadone, which is dosed daily on-site under medical supervision, or Suboxone, depending on a person’s history and level of dependence. Medication always comes with individual counseling, group support, case management, and medical monitoring, and plans are adjusted without judgment if setbacks occur. Their Pregnant & Parenting Program helps expectant and parenting mothers with recovery, parenting skills, domestic violence, and reproductive health, with access to a public health nurse, WIC, and prenatal and family support groups. They also serve participants in the King County Drug Court, and walk-ins are welcome at their methadone clinics, with no referral needed to begin treatment.
