About Team Wellness Center

Team Wellness Center is a community health provider based in Detroit, Michigan, offering integrated primary care, mental health, and substance use services across several clinics in the Detroit area and Downriver communities. Founded in 2002 as Team Mental Health Services, they shifted to a whole-person model that treats physical, emotional, and social needs together in a trauma-informed setting. For people struggling with opioids, they run an outpatient Suboxone clinic. Their 24-hour Crisis Stabilization Unit in Westland serves anyone in Wayne County facing a mental health or substance use crisis. They accept Medicaid and most major insurance plans and offer a sliding fee scale based on income, so cost doesn’t have to be a barrier.

Beyond medication-assisted treatment, patients can access psychiatry, peer support, and individual, group, and family therapy, along with telehealth and telepsychiatry for those who can’t easily get to a clinic. A dedicated child, adolescent, and family program provides therapy, psychiatry, and case management for younger patients and their parents. Their social services address many of the practical obstacles to recovery, including jail diversion and reentry support, employment assistance, shower and laundry facilities, an on-site pharmacy, dental care, and a mobile care unit that brings services into the community. They have held CARF accreditation since 2003.
