Synergy Counseling Center is an outpatient counseling practice in Springfield, Missouri, offering an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for men and women 18 and older who are struggling with substance use. Alongside addiction care, their team of licensed counselors provides individual counseling for adults and children, as well as marriage, couples, and family therapy. IOP clients receive an individualized mix of education classes, group counseling, and one-on-one sessions, and they can also join SMART Recovery and family support groups to help sustain recovery over the long term.

Their weekly education classes cover practical recovery topics, including how drugs affect the brain, how addiction and mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD feed into one another, coping skills, and relapse prevention focused on building a fulfilling life. Other groups address healthy relationships and codependency, attachment patterns rooted in childhood, and a 12-week shame resilience program called Connections. Clinically, they rely on cognitive behavioral therapy and teach DBT skills such as distress tolerance and emotional regulation, drawing as well on acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and solution-focused work. Several counselors also offer trauma-focused approaches, including EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
