About Superior Behavioral Health

Superior Behavioral Health is an outpatient addiction and mental health treatment center serving the Cleveland area from the suburb of Garfield Heights, Ohio. They welcome people starting treatment for the first time, those who have tried treatment before, and families trying to help a loved one, with care for alcohol, opioid, and benzodiazepine addiction alongside co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Clients live at home while stepping through three levels of care: a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and standard outpatient care. They accept Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance, and they offer same-day appointments.

PHP runs six to eight hours a day, five days a week, while IOP typically meets three to five times weekly, and standard outpatient sessions focus on recognizing relapse triggers and building steady routines as clients return to daily life. Treatment begins with a full evaluation and centers on group and individual therapy, drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, trauma therapy, family therapy, and music therapy. For opioid and alcohol use disorders, their medication-assisted treatment program uses Suboxone and Vivitrol, a monthly injection, to ease cravings and withdrawal while clients engage in counseling. Because mental health symptoms can drive cravings, they build integrated plans that address addiction and psychiatric concerns at the same time.
