About Southwest Behavioral Health Services
Southwest Behavioral & Health Services is a nonprofit community behavioral health provider headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, serving people across the state since 1969. Their care model brings primary care, mental health, and substance use treatment together under one coordinated plan, because people with addiction and mental illness often face serious, preventable physical health problems that go untreated when care is fragmented. They offer outpatient mental health and psychiatric care with medication monitoring, addiction services, intensive inpatient care for people in crisis, residential and supported housing, prevention and school-based counseling, and lifespan services for people with autism. Their addiction work includes four opioid treatment clinics statewide, and selected programs carry CARF accreditation.
In Phoenix, their 7th Avenue Outpatient/Opioid Treatment Program provides medication-assisted treatment with methadone and Suboxone, paired with individual and group counseling and psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Practical needs are part of the program too, with case management, job assistance, and housing assistance available to help stabilize daily life during recovery. They also run DUI education and court-ordered domestic violence education, with bilingual and gender-specific groups offered. Dosing starts at 5 a.m. on weekdays and is also available on Saturdays, which can make it easier to stay on medication while keeping a work schedule.
