Southern California Alcohol and Drug Programs, Inc. (SCADP) is a nonprofit substance use disorder treatment provider based in Downey, California, serving people throughout Los Angeles County. They began in 1972 as a community-led effort to offer alternatives to incarceration for people struggling with addiction, and they still focus on underserved and disadvantaged populations with a nonjudgmental approach. Their continuum of care includes outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential treatment, along with case management and recovery support services. Residential care is for women only, while outpatient programs serve both men and women.

Every new client starts with a full American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessment, which guides placement into the right level of care. Outpatient clients take part in education and counseling groups, meet one-on-one with a substance abuse specialist, and complete random drug testing. For those in residential treatment, SCADP can coordinate medication-assisted treatment, including methadone. As a certified Drug Medi-Cal provider, they offer services at no cost to qualifying Medi-Cal and My Health LA members and can help people enroll. They also accept court-ordered clients, including DUI, PC1000, probation, parole, and Department of Children and Family Services referrals, and they provide American Sign Language interpreters for deaf and hard-of-hearing clients.
