About SoCal Detox
SoCal Detox is a residential drug and alcohol detox and stabilization program in Laguna Beach, in Orange County, California. They blend medical, clinical, and social models of care, pairing withdrawal management with psychiatric support so underlying mental health conditions are addressed alongside substance use. Care centers on medical detox, which typically runs about a week depending on the substance, followed by residential treatment of roughly 30 days, with length often shaped by insurance authorization. Clients have 24/7 medical supervision, and the program is licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services and accredited by the Joint Commission.
They offer specialized detox tracks for pregnant women, people withdrawing from fentanyl, and those on high-dose methadone, with no cap on methadone dosing. Medication-assisted treatment is available onsite, including injectable buprenorphine and naltrexone, and a bridge device may be used to ease withdrawal. Therapy combines individual and group sessions with psychoanalytic work, Internal Family Systems, and trauma-informed care, supported by case management and wellness practices such as nutrition, fitness, mindfulness, breathwork, and sound healing. Before discharge, staff connect clients with outside providers and continued MAT management, and alumni meetups and a community mentorship program help sustain recovery; Medicare and Medi-Cal are not accepted.
