Owl’s Nest Recovery is an addiction treatment program for men and women on a 13-acre wooded campus in Florence, South Carolina, and they have served the Pee Dee region since 2001. They pair 12 Step recovery with evidence-based therapy and build each plan around a person’s substance use history, mental health needs, and goals. They treat addiction to alcohol, opioids, fentanyl, heroin, meth, cocaine, benzodiazepines, marijuana, and prescription drugs, as well as gambling and co-occurring mental health conditions. Care is offered through a partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient, and standard outpatient, with on-campus sober living available at every stage, though people who need medical detox will complete it elsewhere before admission.

Their PHP can run up to nine hours a day, five to seven days a week, while IOP typically involves three to six hours a day, three to five days a week, leaving room for work or school. Therapy combines individual, group, and family counseling with CBT, DBT, EMDR, and motivational interviewing, and they add exercise, nutrition, yoga, and meditation for overall wellness. Medication-assisted treatment may be available with clinical approval, and outpatient sessions can be held by telehealth. Many clients stay on campus long-term through sober living and alumni programming, 12 Step meetings are hosted on site, and every staff member either has personal recovery experience or is close to someone who does, with many being Owl’s Nest alumni themselves.
