About SEAK Behavioral Health and Addiction
SEAK Behavioral Health & Addiction Services is a small private counseling practice in Wrangell, Alaska, offering outpatient support for both mental health concerns and addiction. Licensed professional counselor Kimmie (Krissy) Smith founded the practice in 2022 after more than a decade in community mental health. Her approach is person-centered, family-centered, trauma-informed, and oriented toward recovery, with the aim of helping clients build practical skills for handling everyday stress and life changes. Alongside substance use, she works with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, ADHD, bipolar disorder, personality concerns, and behavioral issues in clients of all ages.
Care centers on psychotherapy delivered in individual, family, couples, and group formats, either in person in Wrangell or through telehealth, which can help people in remote Southeast Alaska communities. Beyond addiction counseling, the practice offers anger management, parenting and co-parenting support, and batterer’s intervention for domestic violence. Smith is licensed in both Alaska and Arizona, and the practice accepts Alaska Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, CHAMPVA, and several commercial plans. They can also help clients apply for insurance and connect with other community resources.
