Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center is a nonprofit community mental health agency with an outpatient clinic in Waverly, Ohio, serving Pike County as part of a network that also covers Ross, Fayette, Highland, and Pickaway counties. Founded in the mid-1960s and contracted with the Paint Valley ADAMH Board, they treat both mental health conditions and alcohol and drug use disorders, including depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and adjustment issues. Their care ranges from outpatient counseling and day treatment to residential substance use programs of 90 days or longer. They also run a 24/7 crisis center with 988 support by phone and walk-in.

For addiction treatment, they operate a 36-bed men’s residential facility in Chillicothe and a 12-bed women’s residential program in Greenfield, along with a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program and individual counseling. People who have built some sobriety can step into transitional and recovery housing that continues to address both mental health and substance use needs. Their team includes child and adult psychiatrists, a forensic psychologist, social workers, counselors, and chemical dependency counselor assistants, and an on-site pharmacy at their Chillicothe clinic makes filling prescriptions easier. Grant-funded efforts extend their reach to people in jail, young adults experiencing a first episode of psychosis, and students in local schools.
