About Saint Lawrence Cty Add Servs
St. Lawrence County Addiction Services is a county-run outpatient program in Canton, New York, operated through the county’s Community Services department, with a second clinic in Ogdensburg. They serve individuals and families struggling with alcohol and other substance use, offering outpatient counseling, medication-assisted treatment, and an Opioid Treatment Program. When someone needs a more intensive level of care, such as inpatient treatment, they help arrange referrals to appropriate providers. Because the Community Services office also oversees and funds the county’s wider addiction services network, their clinics can connect people to detox, stabilization, rehabilitation, and gambling treatment through partner agencies.
Counseling is available in individual, family, and group formats, and telepractice sessions make care easier to reach for people who can’t always travel to a clinic. Peer services add support from people with lived experience alongside the clinical team. The Opioid Treatment Program runs morning hours six days a week, including Saturdays, and the outpatient clinics stay open later one evening a week to accommodate work schedules. They also offer Narcan training to community members who want to be prepared to respond to an overdose.
