About Saint Josephs Hospital/Yonkers
Saint Joseph’s Hospital/Yonkers is part of Saint Joseph’s Medical Center, whose St. Vincent’s Hospital Westchester division runs the Port Chester Recovery Center, an outpatient substance use disorder program in Port Chester, New York, serving both adolescents and adults. Their addiction care is multidisciplinary and evidence-based, aimed at helping people improve daily functioning and build the skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to sustain recovery. Across the wider network, care ranges from inpatient rehabilitation and day rehabilitation to intensive and clinic-level outpatient services, along with methadone detox and maintenance through the Yonkers opioid treatment program. People with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions are treated in every program.
Within the network’s outpatient services, a day rehabilitation option serves those who need daily structure while living in the community, combining psychoeducation, individual and group psychotherapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy with groups on trauma, relapse prevention, anger management, family issues, and vocational goals. An evening program meets three nights a week with intensive and clinic tracks focused on relapse prevention and co-occurring disorders, accepts people referred after drinking driver assessments, and is also offered virtually. Medication-assisted treatment, including naltrexone and buprenorphine, is encouraged alongside counseling and overseen by a psychiatrist trained in addiction medicine, while nurses help patients address physical health needs. Each person receives an individualized aftercare plan, and continuing care allows eligible patients to stay connected and keep receiving MAT after active treatment ends.
