About Safe Harbor of Tipton County

Safe Harbor of Tipton County is a faith-based recovery support program in Brighton, Tennessee, offering men a structured, 12-month residential path out of addiction built around Christian faith, accountability, and steady work. Their focus is on men overcoming substance use and co-occurring disorders, including many coming out of jails and prisons, with the aim of helping them return to their families and communities sober and self-sufficient. Housing, meals, and transportation to work, court, and probation or parole appointments are provided, and the program is intended to reinforce recovery after inpatient rehab rather than replace it, so medical detox is not offered. Operating since 2021 on a 20-acre former orphanage campus under Lighthouse Mission Ministries, they can house up to 74 men.

Daily life combines small recovery groups, individual spiritual mentoring, and case management led by pastors, chaplains, and peer coaches with long-term sobriety. Relapse prevention draws on both Christian programs, such as Celebrate Recovery and Walking the 12 Steps With Jesus, and the secular Matrix model, alongside required anger management, fatherhood development, and money management classes. Residents work during their stay through a Back to Work program with local employers, many of whom hire graduates permanently, and a savings plan helps them leave with money set aside. Chapel services are held daily, though participants who prefer not to attend may spend that time on recovery work, and the program coordinates with courts and probation offices through regular progress updates.
