About Rosecrance Inc

Rosecrance in Freeport, Illinois, is part of Rosecrance Behavioral Health, a nonprofit behavioral health organization that has treated substance use and mental health disorders for more than 100 years across over 60 physical and virtual locations in the upper Midwest. They work with both teens and adults, addressing alcohol, opioids, stimulants, cannabis, sedatives, tobacco, and gambling, along with co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders. Across their network, care spans residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, one-on-one outpatient therapy, and structured recovery housing. Each client receives an individualized plan, and periodic outcome surveys allow physician-led teams to adjust treatment as progress unfolds.

Their intensive outpatient program, available in person and virtually for adolescents and adults, typically involves about nine hours of group counseling per week for eight to 10 weeks. Clients then step down to roughly five hours weekly for four weeks before moving into individualized continuing care. Sessions combine individual and group counseling, relapse prevention planning, family support, and an introduction to 12-Step meetings, with dialectical behavior therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy used for co-occurring conditions. Medication-assisted treatment is offered alongside counseling, including Suboxone, Sublocade, oral and injectable naltrexone (Vivitrol), Campral, and Antabuse, and some community locations accept Medicaid, while a charity care fund helps families who need financial assistance.
