About RiverValley Behavioral Health

RiverValley Behavioral Health is a state-designated Community Mental Health Center based in Owensboro, Kentucky, serving Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, Ohio, McLean, Union, and Webster counties since 1967. Alongside mental health care and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, they offer substance use treatment for adults, youth, and families, built on a person-centered, evidence-based approach. Their addiction services span residential treatment, outpatient counseling, medication-assisted treatment, and sober living housing. They are CARF-accredited, run one of Kentucky’s 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline call centers, and are working toward Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic status.

For men who need a structured setting, the Onyx Center is a 16-bed residential program in Owensboro. The Amethyst Center serves people who need more intensive support than routine outpatient care. Medication-assisted treatment pairs medications with inpatient and outpatient therapy, and individual and group counseling are available at offices across the region. Recovery housing includes The Pearl House for women and The Jade House for men, while ROSES for Moms focuses on mothers and their families, and younger clients can access a children’s psychiatric hospital with acute crisis stabilization for ages 4 to 17.
