About Riverside County Latino Commission on
Riverside County Latino Commission on Drugs & Alcohol is a community-based agency serving the Coachella Valley, including Thermal, California, with substance use and mental health services. Their mission centers on making recovery accessible to Latino and migrant farmworker families through culturally sensitive, Spanish-language care, and their adult recovery homes are the only Spanish-speaking facilities of their kind in Riverside County. Care includes withdrawal management at Bea’s Detox Home for Men, 60-day residential programs at Casa Las Palmas for men and Casa Cecilia for women, and an outpatient program for adolescents. The detox and residential programs are funded through Riverside County Medi-Cal, and admission is by referral through the county’s SU Cares line.
Bea’s Detox Home is a 10-bed bilingual program with stays of 7 to 10 days, offering 24-hour monitoring, medication support, and licensed nursing staff. In the small residential homes of six or seven beds, licensed therapists and addiction specialists build individualized plans that combine individual and group counseling, relapse prevention, education, NA and AA meetings, and aftercare planning. Families can join in through educational support and evidence-based parenting classes focused on discipline and communication, and the homes also work with Riverside County Courts on alternative sentencing. Teens in the outpatient program, which runs one to six months with 9 to 10 contacts per week, receive a thorough assessment, skills education on emotions and coping, family counseling, individual sessions, and a teen-driven aftercare component.
