About ReDiscover
ReDiscover is a nonprofit community mental health center in Kansas City, Missouri, serving adults, families, and children affected by mental illness, substance use, or both, including people with limited income or no insurance. With more than 50 years of history, they are the largest community mental health provider in the Kansas City area and run about 30 programs across 20 locations in the metro. Their substance use services include withdrawal management, residential treatment, intensive outpatient care, and opioid treatment that pairs FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapy. They also operate adult and youth behavioral health urgent care clinics that take walk-ins seven days a week.
For residential care, their coed program offers up to 30 days of housing in a nine-bedroom home, with up to 90 days of treatment at their Lee’s Summit site and transportation provided. Their Women and Children program lets mothers keep their children with them, using Friendship House for the first 90 days of recovery and Catherine’s Place for up to four months of transitional housing, with day treatment at their Linwood location. Alt-Care serves women referred to treatment by Missouri probation and parole, and their intensive outpatient program meets three hours a day, five days a week for substance use and mental health needs. Addiction counselors and psychiatrists lead the care, which combines individual therapy, counseling, and support groups.
