About ReDiscover
ReDiscover is a nonprofit community mental health center in Kansas City, Missouri, serving adults, families, and children affected by mental illness, substance use, or both. With a history of more than 50 years and about 30 programs spread across the metro area, they focus on recovery and work with people who have limited financial means or no insurance. Their substance use services include withdrawal management, residential treatment, intensive outpatient care, and opioid treatment. They also run adult and youth behavioral health urgent care clinics that take walk-ins seven days a week.
Several residential tracks serve different needs. The coed program offers up to 30 days of housing in a nine-bedroom home and up to 90 days of treatment at their Lee’s Summit location. Women can enroll in the Women and Children program, which allows them to bring their children into residential housing at Friendship House during the first 90 days of recovery, followed by up to four months of transitional living at Catherine’s Place, with transportation provided to day treatment. Alt-Care serves women referred by Missouri state probation and parole, the intensive outpatient program meets three hours a day, five days a week for mental health and substance use concerns, and opioid treatment clinics pair FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapies.
