About Reach for Recovery

Reach for Recovery is a nonprofit addiction treatment provider serving West Michigan, with therapy offered at their Grand Haven and Holland locations. They view addiction as a chronic, treatable brain disease rather than a moral failing, and they treat alcohol and other substance use disorders alongside co-occurring mental health concerns. Their levels of care include residential treatment, an intensive outpatient program, and standard outpatient services, along with medication-assisted treatment. Fees are set on a sliding scale based on what each person can pay, and they aim to turn no one away, though some insurance plans don’t cover residential care.

Each client works with a therapist to build their own treatment and recovery plan, and an initial assessment determines which therapy group fits them best. Outpatient care combines individual sessions with master’s-level therapists and group therapy for adults 18 and older, with groups focused on understanding addiction, developing a personal recovery program, and learning relapse prevention skills. The intensive outpatient program is meant for people with more severe diagnoses and meets several days a week, adding regular accountability and support. They also offer family services for loved ones affected by addiction, a dedicated program for mothers with infants, and community education.
