About R and R Recovery Services

R and R Recovery Services, also known as R&R Recovery, is an adult addiction treatment program in Huntington Beach, California, built largely for people stepping down from detox or residential care. They offer a partial hospitalization program (PHP) with housing in a structured, substance-free living community and around-the-clock support, along with intensive outpatient (IOP), standard outpatient, and a 12-week extended care program. Each client gets an individualized plan that builds on their strengths, and groups also address co-occurring issues like anxiety, depression, stress, and sleep problems. They work only with adults 18 and older, and their programs are geared toward an abstinence-based lifestyle.

Therapy combines CBT, DBT, rational emotive behavior therapy, person-centered and Gestalt therapy, psychodynamic techniques, and mindfulness with art, music, and experiential work, delivered through individual, group, and family sessions. IOP days also cover communication, problem solving, relapse prevention, vocational training, and community outings so clients can practice skills in daily life. The extended care program moves through three phases of decreasing intensity: a five-week foundation phase, a four-week phase focused on returning to work or school, and a three-week integration phase, supported by twelve-step involvement, nutritional assessments, and occupational workshops. Admission starts with a short pre-assessment by phone or in person, followed by a longer intake that includes counselor evaluations and a psychiatric assessment with the medical director.
