About Prevention Resources

Prevention Resources, Inc. is a long-running community prevention and support agency in Flemington, New Jersey, and has served Hunterdon County since 1971. Their work covers prevention education, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery support, with an emphasis on dignity and wellness for individuals, families, and the wider community. On the treatment side, they hold a Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services license as a Level 1 outpatient program. Through it they provide substance use evaluations, outpatient substance use counseling, early intervention, and Intoxicated Driver Resource Center (IDRC) services.

For people who are still using, their Safer Together Harm Reduction Center opened in 2024 and offers drop-in support. Services include individualized peer recovery support, naloxone training, and referrals to treatment, along with free supplies such as Narcan, drug checking strips, sterile syringes, and wound care and hygiene kits. Their Community Wellness Center connects people with mental health care, peer-led support, and resources for co-occurring disorders. They also run the Open Door Recovery Centers in Hunterdon and Monmouth counties and the Sharing the Hope Family Support Center, and families can turn to their parent toolkit and prevention education programs, which are offered in person or virtually.
