About Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral
Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic with an outreach office in Charles City, Iowa, part of a network of 13 locations across northern Iowa. They have treated substance use disorders and mental health conditions since 1969, with an emphasis on evidence-based care and on treating patients with dignity and respect. Their substance use services range from a 28-day adult residential program to intensive outpatient treatment, ongoing outpatient counseling, and education programs for people facing impaired driving charges.
The residential program is high-intensity and gender-specific, with separate men’s and women’s residences, and it focuses on people with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions through a Dialectical Behavior Therapy curriculum. Intensive outpatient participants typically attend two to three hours of group and individual therapy three to five days a week, while standard outpatient care starts with an assessment and assigns each person a clinician who coordinates their treatment over time, with both day and evening sessions available. For OWI offenses, they offer the 12-hour Prime For Life course and a weekend jail program through Prairie Ridge Intoxicated Driver Education (PRIDE), and adults can also come to walk-in clinics for assessments, medication evaluations, and individual, couples, or family counseling.
