Positive Recovery Centers is a Houston-based drug and alcohol treatment provider with a residential campus in the Garden Oaks neighborhood and outpatient offices throughout the Houston area, along with additional sites in Austin, the Hill Country, and Dallas-Fort Worth. Founded by longtime addiction treatment executive George Joseph, they pair evidence-based care with positive psychology, an approach developed by their chief medical officer, an addiction medicine physician. Their goal goes beyond sobriety: they help people build on their strengths and find meaning in life. Care follows a full continuum that includes medical detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), online teletherapy, sober living, and aftercare.

Detox typically lasts four to six days with round-the-clock nursing, and residential stays generally run 30 to 90 days. Residential days combine individual counseling, group therapy, and weekly family sessions with gender-specific programming, 12-Step meetings, educational classes, nutritional counseling, yoga, and meditation, plus treatment for co-occurring psychiatric conditions. PHP runs five to six days a week for 20 to 30 hours and includes weekly physician visits, while IOP meets three to four days a week in three-hour day or evening groups for about eight weeks, so clients can return to work or school. Clients keep the same care team as they step down between levels, and they can use most major insurance plans or pay privately. Private-pay clients can also choose a 120-day extended residential stay and receive one free return for stabilization if they relapse within a year of completing treatment.
